Project Snapshot
1919 Master Lanzhou Beef Noodle engaged CCC Engineering to deliver compliant kitchen exhaust ventilation design for a new food and beverage tenancy at Shop 3504, Eastern Creek Quarter. The existing tenancy was not provided with a dedicated kitchen exhaust system, leaving it non-compliant with NCC 2022 F6D12 Kitchen Local Exhaust Ventilation requirements.
The brief required full design and certification of a new kitchen exhaust ventilation system suitable for a busy commercial noodle kitchen, including grille selection, ductwork, fan selection, penetration details and integration with existing base building services within the Eastern Creek Quarter shopping centre.
Our Role
- Compliant kitchen exhaust ventilation calculations to AS 1668.2-2012
- Detailed exhaust ventilation system design for construction
- Grille and diffuser selection and ductwork sizing
- Fan selection and supports/hangers detailing
- Penetration details for base building integration
- Power and control provision for new exhaust plant
- Mechanical Services Design Statement
- Design Certificate to NCC 2022 Clause F6D12, J6 and AS 1668.2-2012
Challenges & Solutions

Solution
Sized exhaust airflow and fan selection to manage worst-case kitchen equipment schedule with appropriate make-up air provision
Results
- Fully compliant kitchen exhaust ventilation design delivered
- Design Certificate issued to NCC 2022 and AS 1668.2-2012
- Tenancy works able to proceed under landlord approval
