Heritage warehouse conversions and tight-site hospitality fit-outs are the bread and butter of the Inner West. CCC Engineering services Inner West Council from Newtown to Marrickville, threading mechanical, electrical, fire, and hydraulic design through heritage facade controls and terrace-block site constraints.
Retail tenancies, hospitality fit-outs, and mixed-use conversions each bring different engineering requirements. We coordinate all four disciplines from our Sydney CBD office.
HVAC for retail, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. Kitchen exhaust along King Street and Illawarra Road, plus air conditioning retrofits in heritage warehouse conversions across Marrickville, Erskineville, and Camperdown.
Learn more →Power distribution and lighting for hospitality venues, retail fit-outs, and mixed-use buildings. Older Inner West buildings often need capacity upgrades through Ausgrid before modern HVAC and kitchen loads can be supported.
Learn more →Sprinkler, hydrant, and detection design for commercial and hospitality tenancies. Heritage shopfronts in Newtown, Petersham, and Annandale demand careful sprinkler routing to avoid disturbing protected ceiling and facade fabric.
Learn more →Water supply, sanitary drainage, and gas for restaurants and mixed-use conversions. Heritage trade waste constraints (existing sewer alignments, limited grease trap pit space) shape every hospitality fit-out from King Street to Audley Street.
Learn more →Retail, hospitality, and commercial projects from Chippendale to Millers Point.
Inner West Council was formed in 2016 from the merger of Marrickville, Leichhardt, and Ashfield councils, and now governs Newtown, Marrickville, Leichhardt, Petersham, Annandale, Erskineville, Camperdown, and Stanmore. Planning is consolidating under Inner West LEP 2022, with extensive heritage conservation areas across most major centres. Small overlap with Burwood, Strathfield, and Canada Bay councils on the western boundary.
Heritage warehouse conversions to creative office and residential are the dominant project type, alongside hospitality fit-outs along Newtown's King Street, Marrickville's Illawarra Road, and Petersham's Audley Street. Engineering constraints are consistent: heavy heritage controls limit facade penetrations and rooftop plant placement, terrace-housing site widths force creative riser and ductwork routing, and mixed-use buildings with residential overhead drive acoustic separation requirements through every floor and wall assembly. Older building stock also routinely needs electrical capacity upgrades to carry modern HVAC and commercial kitchen loads.
Our CBD office is a 10 to 20 minute drive from most Inner West locations. We attend site visits, coordinate with local hospitality and fit-out contractors based around Marrickville and St Peters, and handle CC, CDC, and DA submissions through Inner West Council and the private certifiers active in the LGA.
